Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to be responsible for the overall management of our IT division. The CTO will report to the CEO, will be a key member of the executive team and will contribute to the growth of the company through the use of technological resources.

The CTO will direct the strategic design, acquisition, management and implementation of an enterprise-wide technology infrastructure. The overall aim is to establish and drive vision, strategies and plans for the company’s technological growth; along with ensuring that these are aligned to the business strategy.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, an effective communicator and an expert in technological development. We will love to hear how you designed, driven and delivered technology roadmap for an organisation in your current or previous role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Champion overall strategy and budget formulation of technology roadmap.
  • Direct and approve the design of all IT infrastructure, software and communications systems, including email and internal communications systems.
  • Establish governance of all IT activities, including review and approval of all IT policies, controls and incident response planning.
  • Present and drive the company’s technology strategy to management, staff, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Collect, size and prioritise requests from other departments and divisions across the company for IT support.
  • Manage the implementation of IT systems and their effectiveness in meeting business unit needs.
  • Define, communicate, execute and audit application deployment, change control and issue management processes.
  • Prioritise implementation of technology programs and operations within budget and completion targets.
  • Oversee frequent risk management reviews and provide necessary support for prevention and mitigation actions.
  • Ensure cyber security policies and procedures are communicated to all personnel and that compliance is enforced.
  • Provide leadership direction and control for all IT employees, vendors and contractors.
  • Optimise all corporate IT systems within defined budget.
  • Evaluate potential technology trends and purchases.
  • Ensure a complete security plan is in place which protects the availability, integrity and privacy of the IT infrastructure and the data stored and communicated.
  • Put in place effective and well-tested disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Provide input to identity and access policies and review them periodically.
  • Ensure compliance with the changing laws and applicable regulations regulating security and data protection.
  • Regularly monitor company’s technology ecosystem by staying abreast of technology developments in the market, including when appropriate by conducting technical due diligence.

 

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years experience in IT field significant years serving in an executive-level position in same or related industry sector.
  • Experience in application software (Java, C++, data bases), and embedded software development ideally including experience in industry protocols.
  • Knowledge of the current (and future) levels of IT security, threats, vulnerabilities that could impact.
  • Exceptional program and project management skills, including the ability to effectively manage multiple technology initiatives.
  • Broad knowledge of current and emerging technologies, technology directions and strategic application to business needs.
  • Experience developing and maintaining IT policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
  • Extensive experience in successfully managing a diverse group of IT professionals, including senior IT managers, program and project managers, business analysts, UX designers, and technical developers.
  • Strong budget, financial, procurement and vendor management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, strategic thinking and quantitative/qualitative skills.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Tech / M. Tech / MCA/MBA degree.
