One bedtime story was never enough for my 5-year-old mind. I begged my mom to teach me how to read so I could devour more stories by myself. She unwillingly taught me my ABC’s and said that there was plenty of time to learn when I went to school. I couldn’t wait to go to school to learn to read more. Soak up new things and different characters/personalities. A few weeks later mum found me sitting on the floor in all my glory – reading my new favourite book. This is the core of who I am: resilient, and a lover of stories. I strive to keep learning and love making connections with the people and world around me.
