My journey to this role was an interesting one. Initially, I had accepted another job, but Chris, one of the founders of Trade Assist, convinced me to join the team. I've known Chris and Andrew for years, and they always joked about me joining the recruitment world due to my sales background in car rental and management. The career opportunities in recruitment intrigued me, and after six years in the car rental industry across Australia, the UK, and New Zealand, I was ready for a new challenge.
Trade Assist marks my first venture into the world of recruitment, and it has been a roller-coaster of learning experiences. One important lesson I've learned, is not to let the bad days get to you because the next hour could be your best yet. Recruitment can be unpredictable, but staying positive and focused really pays off.
For anyone seeking work or looking to develop their career, my advice is to invest in a well-crafted CV and a relevant cover letter. Showcase why you want the job and how your skills make you an ideal fit for it.
What I love most about my job is the amazing team at Trade Assist. No matter how tough the day may seem, their support makes coming to work enjoyable. We cheer each other on, and the collaborative atmosphere makes all the difference in your day-to-day.
Beyond work, a great weekend for me involves hiking and traveling. Traveling is my passion, and there is no better feeling than when you arrive in a new destination, ready for another adventure. I love the outdoors, discovering new places, and being up early enough to catch a sunrise.
